Richard Peacock
Richard Peacock is an artist working with screen print and woodcut. His imagery combines elements of geometrical abstraction, op and pop art. In his screen prints the image is constructed using building blocks of colour, shape, rhythm and pattern. The negative space between the elements is often an important part of the composition. The stencils for his prints come from a variety of sources: sometimes basic geometric shapes, but often recycled pieces of packaging folded flat. A key element of his “handmade” work is that the images are never perfect – there are imperfections, gaps, overlaps and unexpected colours to discover. In August 2024 Richard launched the Running Jump Print Workshop. The workshop has 3 presses and supports established and developing artists working with screen printing, intaglio and relief printing.
